My Favorite Place: Capri, Italy

Capri, Italy was the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I participated in this study abroad program called OU Italy 2.0 with the President's Community Scholars and the LEAD Team organizations in Summer 2017. 

When we were being surprised with a boat ride around the Mediterranean Sea and I have never felt so alive. Everything was so beautiful, like a dream that I wouldn't want to wake up to. The sea was so blue, the mountains we're so high, and the atmosphere was so relaxing that I wouldn't mind staying in the boat for a very long time. It was my moment in which I was distracted by everything else. Nevertheless, everyone around me had such a great time. This trip was considered a traveling experience for me that I felt grateful to be taken away to.

    This is wonderful, Hoai-Quoc! I don't think anybody has chosen Capri as a favorite place before. It is so beautiful! A beautiful dream indeed!

    And of course India is a place with many beautiful landscapes, including the long coastline and beaches. The name of one of the epic heroes is Parashurama ("Rama with an axe" -- not the same Rama you will meet in the Ramayana), and there is a wonderful legend about how he created Kerala in India, with its wonderful beaches: Indian Mythology: Kerala

    Hi Hoai,

    This sounds like a super cool opportunity. I have also always wanted to explore the Mediterranean. I find traveling to be a great stress reliever. The ocean specifically is very relaxing to me. I have always wanted to explore some islands in the Caribbean, as I have heard the water is fantastic there.

Week 2 Story: Everyone Wins

Once upon a time, there was student, named Paper, who was attending his first middle school. As he took his first steps into the school building, he became stoked. He met wonderful teachers and staff along the way. However, he didn’t have any friends. His teachers told him to try to make friends or else he would be alone. The next few minutes later, he hopped onto a random groups conversation, but realized that it didn’t work out so well for him. He just didn’t know how to find the right friend groups. As Paper was walking out of his last class for the day, he got pushed down in the hallway by the scissor jocks. The scissor jocks picked and teased on him because he looked different from them.
