Growth Mindset

Most ted talks that I have recently watched were very interesting because they do make sense. They manipulate in some parts of your mind to initiate the ideas they were trying to apply. I have not heard of Carol Dweck, but she does know what she is doing. The growth mindset is always important for most people so that they can improve in their lives. Carol Dweck is right. Sometimes life can be hard, but that doesn't mean you should consider failure as your complete check-off list. It just means, "not yet," as in you are not done yet. Life is all about practice before perfect. It takes time and practice to be better at things like playing sports or studying for exams. What I realized was that you must work harder to put yourself up to the top. From my experience, I didn't study too much in high school and I still had a high 4.0 GPA. After attending college, it is completely different. You must study and even know how to study to become better for your achievements. What's so great about growth mindsets is that it can relate to many things. For example, if a person wants to learn how to hip hop dance, he or she should never give up. My moto is that everyone can dance. It is all about the time and effort that they put into to become better than they were before. This can relate to a term called, progress.

  1. I am so glad you connected with this, Hoai-Quoc! And the dance comparison is wonderful: everybody knows that dance takes time and practice, and that is how it should be in school too. We need time to practice without stress. And hopefully while having fun, like hip hop! Maybe you will want to use this class to learn something about the dance traditions of India. They even have a god of dance: Shiva, the Nataraja - Dance-lord.
